Bratislava, the capital and biggest city of Slovakia, has around 420.000 inhabitants.  It borders to Austria and Hungary. The Austrian border is only 5 kilometers away from the city center. The Austrian capital Vienna is about 55 kilometers away from Bratislava. Together the cities are named the “Twin City”, because they form the center of the Europaregion “Centrope”.

Bratislava is the economic, cultural and political center of Slovakia. It has many theaters, museums and entertainment places. The city offers many green spaces, in which you can chill and relax. One of the most important landmarks of the city is the stunning Castle of Bratislava that can be found in the historic city center.

Each year, the city is visited by more and more tourists and especially medical tourists as it is a cultural and scientific center and home to many universities. The most important and largest university in Slovakia is the Comenius University, opened in 1919.
