UK Faculty of Medicine

The faculty of medicine is the oldest faculty of the Comenius University. It is also the first medical school established throughout Slovakia. Thanks to its long tradition, it attracts many international students from around the world.

It is one of the best public institutions committed to medical education and research and is considered one of the best in the field of medical research.

The main goal of the university is to offer a high-quality education in order to train future experts in health care. It provides the study courses medicine and dentistry in English and Slovak, each for six years. So when international students finish their degree they can become great professionals in the field of medicine.
From the third year students begin to put the theory, they have learned during the first years, into practice. From the fourth to the sixth year students begin to receive their first clinical experience and they will carry out research. The university has more than 17,000 graduates from Slovakia and the European Union. There is a great demand for places at the university, due to the cooperation of the Comenius University with various international institutions, hospitals and other facilities in the field of health care.

The courses of dentistry and medicine are divided into 56 institutes and departments. After the degree of medicine, students can continue their research at the university or do a doctorate.
