Student Life in Milan

The student life in Milan, Italy, is very lively and can be organized really diversified! Hit the road with your fellow students and enjoy the numerous leisure opportunities together.

The official language in Italy is Italian. Nevertheless you can get along with English in the daily life in Milan very well. Many inhabitants speak English, so that there will be no language barriers until you have mastered the local language. The degree program will take place in English anyway. This means there will not be any communication problems. At the university everybody is speaking English very well.

Mobility in Milan is no problem at all! The public transportation network is excellent and offers transportation with the metro, tram and (trolley) busses. The tram network in Milan is one of the biggest tram networks throughout Europe and has an entire length of 170 kilometers with 19 lines – 18 of this urban.

The university itself has – until the opening of the new campus – no dormitory or student flats available. However the Hunimed cooperates with two dormitory companies – with the “Camplus” with four student dorms in different parts of Milan and with the „Hotel Residence Zumbini“ in the south of Milan.

Milan offers many possibilities for doing indoor and outdoor sports. For this there are many facilities, clubs, gyms and courses available which you can visit. Especially the Alps – and the foothills of the Alps – offer many possibilities to get active in the nature in summer and winter – be it snow sports, climbing or an extensive hiking tour.

As an international university town and metropolis, Milan provides a variety of offers in regard to going out and leisure time, so that there will be something to do for every taste and character. It will absolutely not get boring there!
