University of Debrecen

Medicine: The medical degree at the University of Debrecen will prepare you for the medical profession and offer you a long and successful career. Duration: 6 years (10 semesters + 1 year internship). Start date: September.
Pre-Medical Course: A basic medicine course focusing on Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English. It prepares students for their chosen degree programme and to pass the entrance examinations of any of the faculties. Upon completion of this course students are automatically admitted into the Faculty of Medicine. Duration: 1 year.
Dentistry: The Dentistry degree programme has been carefully designed to ensure that its graduates have a high standard of knowledge and practical skills. During the first year you will gain an understanding of the basic medical sciences. From the second year onwards, you will take more specific subjects such as Odontology or Dental Materials and Techniques. Duration: 5 years.
Pharmacy: A pharmaceutical degree programme in English for international students. Students receive training in the clinical use of medications and drugs, their objectives, chemical formulas, contraindications, adverse effects, etc. Become a professional pharmacist at this university. Duration: 5 years.
Physiotherapy: Physiotherapy programme. Duration: 4 years.
Public Health: Master of Public Health. Duration: 2 or 3 semesters.

Debrecen lies in the east of Hungary. It is the capital of Hajdú-Bihar county and the country’s second most populated city, with 217,706 inhabitants. Debrecen has its own international airport. You can also travel to the city via Budapest. The train journey from Budapest to Debrecen takes two and a half hours. The city gives you the chance to lead a full, exciting university life. In the past, Debrecen has been the capital of Hungary.

If you are currently in your last year of high school (2nd year of Baccalaureate in Spain), you are required to sit an entrance examination. The examination consists of a test on the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry and Physics. You will also be invited to attend an interview. If you have an International Baccalaureate qualification or a science or health-related university degree, you can apply without having to sit the entrance examination. In this case, the university will study your application and confirm whether or not you are required to sit the entrance examination.

All the university’s degree programmes have been adjusted to the Bologna Process. Its qualifications are fully recognised in Europe, USA and in many other countries.
