The Medicine Degree is a long-term program of the Pomeranian Medical University of Szczecin, structured in 6 academic years (12 semesters). After its finalization and approval of the studies, the student will be awarded an official diploma in medicine, as a Physician Doctor or “MD”. Each academic year covers 60 ECTS credits, which the student will have to pass. This set of hours, seminars and practical hours amounts to 5710 academic hours.
These seven medical areas of study arise, which will accompany the students for five years:
- Morphological sciences
- Scientific basis of medicine
- Preclinical sciences
- Behavioral sciences with elements of professionalism
- Clinical sciences
- Clinical sciences with treatment
- Legal and organizational basis of medicine
During the sixth academic year, (eleventh and twelfth semester) 30 weeks of practice units are to be performed in the following medical disciplines:
- Internal medicine
- Pediatrics
- Surgery
- Gynecology and obstetrics
- Psychiatry
- Emergency medicine
- Family medicine
- 6 weeks in a specialization field chosen by the student
